We are seeking to appoint a friendly and caring teaching assistant (or two!) to be part of our team. Whilst this post is advertised as full time, it is also suitable for two people to share the role over the week. Please state the number of hours you would be able to work in your supporting statement.
This post will be based in our reception and KS1 classes for the foreseeable future, but we do ask for all teaching assistants to be open to moving to other year groups if and when required.
The role would suit someone with experience of working with children, either at an individual level or within the classroom environment. You will work as part of a team, under the direction of the class teachers and senior staff to ensure all children are receiving the best possible education to reach their full potential. This role will include supporting a pupil 1:1 for part of the time.
We are looking to find someone who will work closely with our teachers to get to know our children, giving energy and commitment to each child to help them reach their full potential. All staff at Ide use a relational approach, provide positive behaviour management and are able to support both social and emotional needs as well as academic achievement, and any new staff also need to demonstrate these skills and qualities.
Our new teaching assistant needs to:
➢ Have an awareness of a child’s development
➢ Be able to support children in groups, in a 1:1 capacity as well as within a whole class setting
➢ Be able to support with creative learning that is tailored to meet the needs of an individual from their starting point.
➢ Demonstrate a drive for excellence in all aspects of school life
➢ Be able to recognise and build on the strengths of all children whilst nurturing their wellbeing.
In return we can offer:
➢ children who are keen to learn, look after each other and are proud of their school
➢ a supportive and dedicated staff team, who are passionate about providing our children with the best learning opportunities
➢ the chance to be a member of an aspirational and forward-looking team
➢ professional development opportunities to enhance career aspirations
